You are not supposed to study all the English irregular verbs at once....Study them little by little...You can use your memory...But the best way to study them is by practice.

We use it to refer to moments and periods of time that have already finished, especially when we mention the time. These moments can be short actions that end quickly. It can also be used with longer periods and actions.
